Pre-Teen & Teen Therapy

Are you concerned that your pre-teen or teen is stressed and unhappy?
Are you worried your pre-teen or teen is struggling to make or keep friends?
Does your pre-teen or teen have a hard time in social situations?
As a parent, are you unsure how to help?

If you answered “Yes” to any of the above questions, we are here to help! Being a pre-teen/teen can be challenging and sometimes as a parent, it’s hard to figure out what is typical teen behavior from worrisome and we are here to help you not only survive but thrive during the teenage years.

Whether it is navigating school pressure, peer issues, depression, anxiety, anger management, family changes such as a divorce or loss, mood instability, or whatever the unique situation facing your pre-teen/teen might be, we offer individualized support to help them lead more fulfilling lives.

Therapy is a judgement-free space for pre-teens/teens to be heard, understood, supported, and challenged. When working with pre-teens/teens we integrate a variety of methods including talk therapy, activity therapy, expressive arts, and sand tray therapy to meet their needs and preferences while supporting them with home, social, school, peer, and life transition challenges.

Collaboration:

In working with pre-teens/ teens, we partner with parents/caregivers to help them balance their child’s need for independence with creative and supportive parenting approaches. Parents/caregivers are involved in the process through parent/caregiver consultation sessions. These sessions offer a time to discuss challenges and assist parents/caregivers in learning new skills and techniques to help their pre-teen or teen.
