In celebration of each individual’s strengths and unique qualities, I offer an individualized approach that is customized to each client and his or her family’s needs while being sensitive to the developmental needs of each client. I understand that there are many things in life that influence you and take a toll on your emotional well-being. I believe that with support, guidance, compassion and understanding, people have the ability to not only find the solutions to their problems, but the strength to make positive changes in their lives. Additionally, I believe that the ultimate goal is to help clients create lives that feel good, meaningful, and fulfilling and it is a privilege to support my clients in their journey.
I am dedicated to working with children, adolescents, adults and families to help them to express their feelings and explore their inner strengths in an effort to promote positive change. My approach is practical and comprehensive, and my creative style helps to quickly establish a positive relationship in a safe and supportive environment. I offer play therapy, activity therapy, expressive arts, and/or traditional talk therapy. I have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, Chronic Medical Conditions, ADHD, Adjustment Issues Related to Divorce, or Loss, Peer Problems, Self-Esteem and Social Skills Challenges.
I embrace working with parents of my child clients as I believe they are an integral part of their child’s treatment. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have expertise in Parent Training/Coaching that is age appropriate and grounded in developmentally sound behavior management approaches. To further my commitment to working with clients of varying abilities, I am a Certified Autism Specialist and actively involved within the special needs community.
